KinkTrix: how it works
A quick, plain guide to the game, your Blueprint, and your privacy.
The game (Directive Generator)
Tap Spin for pleasure and three reels, Who, Side, and What, land on a playful directive for the two of you. It needs no account and works offline.
- Set your players: on first run you enter two names. Change them any time, or tap Reset players in Settings to start fresh with a new pair.
- Make it yours: in Settings (the gear) you can fully edit the acts, the disadvantages, and the consequences (penalties), and set each person's give and receive permissions plus the reciprocal odds.
- Sound and install: toggle sound with the speaker, and install KinkTrix as an app from your browser menu for offline play.
- Share: tap the share icon to send KinkTrix to a friend.
What is a Blueprint?
Your Blueprint is a living, editable document of how you like to play: your preferences, curiosities, hard limits, health protocol, and aftercare. It is written in your own words, not a checklist. You build it in minutes from a starter template and edit it forever.
Local-first: it lives on your device
By default your Blueprint is saved only in your browser, on your device. No account is needed to use it. You can export a backup file at any time, and print or save it as a PDF.
Accounts and sync (optional)
If you want your Blueprint on more than one device, you can create an account with an email, a username (a handle, not your real name), and an emoji avatar. Once signed in, your Blueprint syncs so you can open it anywhere.
Zero-knowledge: we cannot read your Blueprint
When your Blueprint syncs, it is encrypted on your device first. The key that unlocks it is created from your password and never leaves your browser. Our server only ever stores a scrambled version it cannot read. In plain terms: even we cannot see what is in your Blueprint. That is by design, not a promise we could break.
If you forget your password
Because only you hold the key, there is no password reset. That sounds scary but it is not the whole story: your Blueprint also stays on your own device, so a forgotten password does not erase your content. The golden rule is simple: keep a backup. Use Export whenever you make big changes, and store the file somewhere safe.
How to back up
- Open your Blueprint.
- Tap Export in the top bar. A file downloads to your device.
- To restore it later or on another device, tap Import and choose that file.
Connect and share with a partner
You can privately share your Blueprint with a trusted partner, and read theirs, with the same zero-knowledge protection so only the two of you can see the content. Open the account button (the person icon), then tap Connections.
- Invite: tap Create invite code and send the one-time code to your partner however you like (Signal, in person, a note). There is no search or directory, they can only connect with a code you gave them.
- Accept: when they redeem the code, approve the request. Now it is mutual, you have both consented.
- View: tap View on a connection to open that person's full Blueprint, read-only, decrypted right on your device.
- Revoke: disconnect any time. Revoking rotates your key so a former connection cannot read your future edits.
